TT Premier Football League (Trinidad & Tobago)


The TT Premier Football League is the top professional football division in Trinidad & Tobago. It was launched in 2023 as the new, modernized replacement for the long-running TT Pro League. The competition features major clubs like Defence Force, W Connection, Central FC, and San Juan Jabloteh.

History and facts

Trinidad & Tobago’s top-tier football has existed for decades under different names, but the TT Premier Football League was officially launched in 2023 to bring modernization, better financing, and improved sporting infrastructure.

Historically, the country’s football has been dominated by clubs such as Defence Force, W Connection, and San Juan Jabloteh.

Trinidad & Tobago’s clubs participate in the CONCACAF Caribbean Cup and can qualify for the CONCACAF Champions Cup.


League system


The TT Premier Football League is the first tier of Trinidad & Tobago football. Below it sits the TT Super League, which functions as the second division, though promotion/relegation is still under gradual implementation.

TT Premier Football League timeline


1999 The TT Pro League is founded as the country’s first fully professional league.
